Sleepover Fun

Aubrey had fun at a sleepover with Mady at our house. They loved playing dress up and acting like sweet little girls!

Oh my gosh - Aiden is 11 Months!

It is exciting that Aiden is already 11 months but also so sad that pretty soon he won't be my little baby anymore. I think this past month is one that Aiden, Dominic or I don't want to relive anytime soon. He has been sick for almost the whole month but then got really sick where it was questionable whether he should have gotten admitted to Children's Hospital. He had a double ear infection and pneumonia and was terribly sick. We kept him out of daycare for two and half weeks with the help of my family watching him to give his immune system a break to recover and he is doing much better. He lost a pound and half of weight while he was sick and looks so skinny to me but we are working on gaining it back.

Aiden didn't want to do much when he was sick except be he held and cuddle, but now that he is better he still quite a little mover. He cruises along furniture and can crawl really fast with the best of them. I don't think he has any desire to walk yet, because he loves to be held and will wrap his legs around you and put a death grip on you with his hands if you try to put him down.

Aiden can say mama, dada, baba, and is trying to say ball. He loves cheese puffs and as we discovered even when he was sick and wouldn't eat anything, he would still eat a cheese puff! He can drink from a sippy cup and a straw easily, but we are still working oh him holding his own sippy or bottle. I am also trying to wean him from nursing, but that doesn't always go so well - I think it is more of a comfort for him especially when he was sick.

We went a little backwards with Aiden's sleeping habits when he was sick too. Sometimes I think he wakes up in the middle of the night to make sure we are still there. He is stubborn because we do let him cry it out and he will cry for a straight hour before falling back asleep, but if you rock him for a couple of minutes he will go right back to sleep. He is usually only waking once at night so I can handle that for now.

He also has a new love - any type of ball. He loves chasing them and will even play catch -it is so cute.

I took this picture of Aubrey the other day and I thought it sums her up right now. She has been a lot of fun lately! She loves pretend play, dolls, and doing puzzles. Her vocabulary is HUGE and surprises me every day. She is using complex words such as "either" correctly and constantly asks questions. She tells me new facts every day like "monkeys eat bananas" or "squirrels eat nuts" - it is adorable. My favorite is all the nursery rhymes she constantly sings - favorites of hers right now include Mary had little lamb, Row your boat, I'm going to buy you a mockingbird, and ring around the rosie. (I should say I love my daycare because it is more like preschool and it is where she learns all these things.) We are really enjoying this age as it is constant discovery, however we could do without the meltdowns, but those are few and far between.
