Aiden is Nine Months

Aiden has had a lot of firsts this past month. He has been teething a lot and now has two bottom teeth and is working on a two top teethas well. He is refusing baby food more and more therefore we have been working on real food and is getting better at his pincer grasp and getting the food to his mouth. He has also learned to feed his bottle to himself, which is a relief because he doesn't always like getting a bottle from his mama. Aiden is now mobile and can crawl all over the place. He likes to grab onto anyone on the floor and try to pull himself up which frequently is Aubrey - the fights have already started. He definitely knows how to make his voice heard and yells if you take anything away from him. We are working on the word "no" when he shouldn't touch something and Aubrey likes to play mom and tell him no all the time too!

We went to the doctor and Aiden weighs 19 lbs. 9 oz. (35% percentile- which is a significant drop from his normal 75%, therefore I was instructed to feed him more and give him high calorie snacks - - I wanted to say have you seen my big boy, he doesn't look like he is lacking in nutrition, but I didn't). We have to go back in four weeks for a weight check to make sure I have fattened him up a little more. He was 29 inches in length (75% percentile) and 75% for head circumference - so right on track except for being a little slender.

He wears 12 months clothes and size 3 shoes. Aiden unfortunately for me still does not sleep the night, but at least goes down early at 7pm. He takes three short naps throughout the day and for the most part wakes up pretty happy. He likes to play in his jumperoo or with his new trucks and tractors from Christmas, but still loves to be held most of the time by mommy or daddy.

Here is Aiden at 1 month and now - it is amazing how much they grow and SOOO fast! I miss that little baby already as Aiden is quickly becoming more like a toddler than my little baby.

In sad news, our family dog Oliver has passed away - we will miss him dearly but I am sure Annie is happy as she will have someone to play with and lay by again :)

Belated Christmas 2010

The holidays went by so fast and were plenty busy for us. Christmas Eve was spent hosting Dominic's parents and brother for a brunch at our house before church, then next went to my aunt Rita's house to make tamales with my dad's side of the family. The tamales turned out great thanks to my aunt's hard work all day - we even got some to take home which were devoured right away. Christmas morning was our family time with Aubrey and Aiden enjoying their gifts from Santa and opening presents from mommy and daddy. Aubrey loved her new bitty baby and cradle while Aiden had a fun time with the wrapping paper and riding on his new car. We then went to my parents house for Christmas with my family where the kids were spoiled with tons of great gifts and then to Dominic's parents house to have Christmas dinner with his family. Aubrey even got an awesome dress up center which will be lots of fun for years to come.

Dominic and I both had lots of time off during the holidays which was spent with lots of family time and getting to some put off house work. We were able to enjoy New Year's Eve at my sister's house with friends before Aubrey got sick over the weekend. She is doing much better now, but it was a rough New Year's for her. She is looking forward to start swimming class with daddy again this weekend as she is becoming an expert at blowing bubbles (learning how to go under) and floating on her back. Aiden is thrilled that he can move now as I have to get used to a baby being into everything again! I am sure we have a fun couple of months ahead of us.
