Aiden is Three Months

Aiden turned three months old yesterday and he is turning into my big boy, literally. He weighs about 15 pounds and everyone thinks he looks much older than he is. He is now smiling and cooing whenever someone talks to him, and can hold his head pretty well. Sleeping at night is getting a little bit better with longer periods (every 3-4 hours) between waking - this is much better than every two hours! He STILL loves to be held mostly by his mama, as Dominic is getting frustrated with this. I can calm him down in a couple a seconds where it takes anyone else a while - we are hoping this will get better with the start of daycare as he won't have much of a choice. Aiden will go to Little Saints with Aubrey three days a week and will have the same teacher as Aubrey did when she was a baby. We are glad about this as Aubrey loved Carol because she held her all the time. Aiden will also go to Diane's house on Thursdays with Aubrey, Max, and Mya for some cousin time. I will miss getting to spend all my time with him, but don't mind work too much either. Here are some pictures of our growing baby boy.

For comparison, Aubrey at three months - she looked pretty big too (look at those legs)!

Aubrey's 2nd Birthday

Aubrey turned 2 on June 11 and we had her party on Sunday. Aubrey loves Dora the Explorer so that was the theme for her birthday as you can see from her invitation.

It was a little overcast at first, but we ended up having a great day. It didn't rain until the very end, but the kids enjoyed running in the rain! We are so blessed to have so many friends and family come and celebrate our little girl - she couldn't have had more fun. In the slide show, the picture of her in the car seat is at the end of the day when she completely passed out from sugar and exhaustion. Aubrey has become a loving, intelligent, and spirited little girl. She loves her babies and being a mama to them. She loves her kitchen and is always cooking us something. She is a great eater and still loves all types of fruit - since she was a baby. Her vocabulary is huge and can speak in short sentences. She can count to 10 correctly most of the time, she can even count in spanish - thanks Dora. She loves her baby brother and helps out a lot. Her only fault with him is when she wants to be held by mommy - which can be a lot at times. Aiden still wants to be held by mommy all the time too - which can create a problem. But I will hold my babies as long as they let me as this is something I know I will miss the most when they don't want me too anymore (I dread this day and hope it never comes).

On her actual birthday, we also had her two year old visit and Aiden's two month old visit with Dr. Dan. For my memories, Aubrey and Aiden are my big little girl and boy!

Aubrey 2 years: 29 lb (97%) and 33 1/2 in (90%)

Aiden a little over 2 months: 13 lb 15 oz (90%) and 23 1/2 in (75%)

My maternity leaves is going faster and faster and going back to work is coming soon unfortunately. We have Aiden's baptism this coming Sunday and then the following weekends wedding season will begin with showers, bachelorette parties, and weddings every weekend until the end of August! Summer will fly by.

Early Birthday Presents

This past weekend Aubrey recieved some early birthday presents. (Her birthday is on Friday.) Grandma and Grandpa Alba got her her first house - she tells everyone it is "Aubrey's House". She got it early because it took Grandpa, Daddy, and uncle Charlie all Sunday afternoon to put it together. She loves it and has been playing in it everyday. We even got her a play grill for it, so she cooks for Dominic and I all the time. Mya was the first one to see it finished that day because Aubrey and Max were still taking naps - as you can see, she liked it too!

Mommy and Daddy also got Aubrey a big bouncer for her birthday. So of course when Max and Mya were over they had to try it out. They especially loved the ball pit. More pictures to come after her party this weekend.

Some cute pictures of Aubrey and Mya in matching outfits from Grandma.

We are enjoying summer here and can't wait to celebrate our first baby's second birthday this weekend.

Two Months, Swimming, and Visit from uncle Andre

Aiden is two months old already. We are waiting for our visit to the pediatrician so Aiden and Aubrey can go together next Friday (Aubrey is going to be 2)! I will have stats then, since it will be interesting to see because as you can see from the pictures, Aiden is becoming a big boy. I have had a lot of comments from other people that he seems older than he is because of his size. Aiden still loves to be held all the time and would be permanently attached to me if he could. He is definitely a challenge at times as we are going through a colic phase right now - its hard to not be able to comfort him all the time, but we are handling it as best we can. He is still getting up every 2 hours at night, but will eat and then go back to sleep. Aubrey was like this too for a while, so I am used to not having a sleeper. His biggest milestone is that he is beginning to smile! So sweet - it makes everything worthwhile.

For the Memorial Day weekend, Dominic went to the Indy 500 as he always does, so I packed up the kids and stayed at my parents for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful weather. My dad had the pool ready and warm for Aubrey and she was ready to jump right in - literally. Since taking swim lessons, Aubrey is becoming a great swimmer. She can swim independently with her water wings and loves to jump in by herself, swim on her back and go under. I am sure she will be a fish all summer.

Aiden enjoyed being outside and being lazy lounging in a recliner on the pool deck!

On Monday, we also got a visit from uncle Andre. He took a break from the Cirque de Soleil Elvis show in Vegas to go to Indy and then come meet Aiden for the first time. Aubrey loved playing with him and hopes he comes back soon!

We also got a new camera, so Dominic and I have been trying it out a lot lately - here are some more pictures from our weekend.
