Aiden's Announcement

2 Weeks and Bath Time

This post is a little late but Aiden was 2 weeks old last week. I can't believe how fast that time went and Dominic reminded me that I only have 10 weeks of maternity leave left. For most of those two weeks Aubrey maintained her schedule and went to school, so I could have some one on one time with Aiden and catch up on sleep because Aiden is still a night owl. We went to see Dr. Dan for his two week check-up and he is growing like a champ. He gained a pound in a week and didn't have to have any more bilirubin checks - I was happy for no more needle pokes.

Aiden at 2 weeks: 9 lbs. 1 oz. (60th percentile) 21 1/2 in. (80th percentile)

Aubrey has been a great and very helpful big sister. She does have her moments but is overall adjusting very well. She even gave Aiden his first bath which he loved.

Some more pictures from our first couple weeks with Aiden.

It's a Boy . . . Aiden Michael Kasten

Aiden was born on Tuesday, April 6th at 6:45pm. He weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. I had previosly had a 36 week ultrasound where the doctors thought I was actually 2 weeks ahead of my original April 22 due date and at that time it was estimated that Aiden already weighed 7 lbs 13 oz. I then saw my doctor the next Monday and that time was very uncomfortable and did not feel well. My blood pressure was also very high for me which they were worried about so it was decided that I would be induced the next day. My labor was so much better than with Aubrey which I was very thankful for. We are extremely blessed with this beautiful brand new addition to our family.

This post is a little late because we have been very busy with a newborn who likes to be up at night and a toddler who is reluctant to always share her mommy, but we wouldn't want it any other way. Dominic has been a huge help as he is able to work from home and has off until this Thursday. We are enjoying our time together as a family.

Aiden is great eater and loves sleeping on his belly on mommy or daddy. We are working on rearranging his schedule but it is so hard to wake a sleeping baby. Aubrey is being a great big sister and loves to bring him his "nookie".

Here are some more pictures from our big day and also from Easter which we were able to celebrate with my family for brunch and Dominic's family for dinner. My aunt had an Easter egg hunt for the kids which Aubrey loved.
